Japanime Games: Rocketeering!

by Eric Price

Japanime Games: Rocketeering!

Japanime Games had more success than it possibly could have imagined in 2020. With such a successful year, Eric Price has decided to follow in the air-walk footsteps of other famous billionaires such as Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and Guy Fieri...and start a new Rocketship company! We are exceptionally proud to announce our newest division of the company: JAPANIME ROCKETERING! Our Motto is: “It’s actually rocket science? We’ve seen enough Space Anime.” Eric has always been a lover of rockets and space. Sporting a collection of many different rockets, Eric has always been most fond of the Tintin rocket and went about Japanime Rocketeering’s first tasks was to emulate this exact design and get it to space. Newly promoted Warehouse crew Brad and Chris, now Chief Rocket Engineers, set out work in secret many months ago to finalize this project. Their efforts to keep this project secret, thankfully, were not in vain. As the company has grown, it only made sense that all existing employees received similar promotions. While there was heavy debate on what the first rocket ship might look like, please enjoy our highly accurate, hi-res imagery from the launch site. As we worked in secret, such images were hard to take unhindered for fear of exposing our progress before we were ready. As the company has grown and needed new positions filled, current positions have changed. We are pleased to announce that Heather, our wonderful and amazing Chief Operations Manager,  will be receiving a promotion to Head of Mission Control. “Honestly, it was about time for that and us going to the moon. All that was going on in my house was ‘to the moon’ this, and ‘gamestonk’ that. One thing led to another and we’re going to the moon. How else do we do Tanto in Space justice?”Jackson Wood, previously our Marketing and Events Coordinator, among other things, wanted to be more adventurous. Last we saw Jackson was this morning on launch day as he climbed into the rocket. He had a wild grin on his face and before he closed the door he said “See ya, Space Cowboys.” before the countdown timer for the rocket launch suddenly began. A solid forty-two minutes later, that rocket was cleared for liftoff and carried its majestic Japanime colored fuselage through the clouds and into the inky blackness of space. “Today is a momentous day for Japanime Games and Japanime Rocketeering” says Eric Price, “I am proud of my team for this moment. Now if you’ll excuse me, it turns out that Jackson accidentally flew the rocket off course... when he tried to drink his chocolate milk after takeoff. I...need to find a new Marketing Manager.”

Our Favourite Anime Board Games Of 2022 So Far

Our Favourite Anime Board Games Of 2022 So Far

It’s no secret that anime is woven into the very fabric of modern pop culture.  With multiple series releasing year after year, it’s no wonder that so many anime lovers also find themselves interested in other aspects of Japanese culture and entertainment. In addition to many other facets of popular media like video games, manga, and music, there are also a number of amazing anime board games available on the market today.  Whether you’re an adventurous anime enthusiast looking to delve further into the worlds you already know and love, or a board game fan wanting to add new games to your collection, we guarantee there’s a game out there you’ll enjoy.  So keep reading and come with us as we journey through five different board games inspired by beloved anime series and fan-favorite characters.  The Best Anime Board Games to Bring People Together Attack on Titan: The Last Stand  If you’ve ever browsed the anime section on Netflix, then you’ll probably recognize this title.  In Attack on Titan: The Last Stand, players take on the role of their favorite Scout — either Eren, Levi, Conny, or Hange — to defend the city of Trost, the last remaining human city in existence, against the wrath of the Titans. The Titan and castle walls create a vertical playing surface, so strategic positioning is key in this game. Players must tactically move their characters around to avoid attacks and deliver devastating blows to weaken the Titan and bring it down once and for all.  We enjoyed the various tactical options and combinations within this game. The gameplay itself pairs well with the thematic world of Attack on Titan, so if you’re a fan of the anime series — or just strategic gameplay in general — then you’ll love what this game brings to the table. BESM 4th Edition  If you’re already a hardcore anime fan — or a Japanimaniac, as we like to call ourselves — you’ll want to check out the 4th edition of Big Eyes, Small Mouth! Set in the vast world of anime and manga, this innovative roleplay game lets you create and play as your own anime character, delve into the depths of dungeons, tame wild creatures, and explore the realms of your own imagination.  We love the freedom of RPGs, but recognize how overwhelming they can be when you’re just getting started. Thankfully, this volume is a complete system that includes everything that you need to play, so you can dive right into the world of anime and BESM with ease.  With over 100 gorgeous illustrations spread out across its 352 full-color pages, this game is a dream for any and all anime enthusiasts, regardless of their experience level or expertise. Kamigami Battles: Rise of the Old Ones  Kamigami Battles: Rise of the Old Ones is a deck-building game for 2-6 players. You play as one of the Great Old Ones, recruiting Warriors and Disciples to assist you in your battles against the gods who wish to conquer your domain. The game is playable in two distinct modes: Team Match and Free-For-All. In Team Match mode, players partner up with one another to defeat their opponents. In Free-For-All mode, everyone battles each other at once. Regardless of the mode you play in, the goal of this game is simple: destroy all opposing gods by reducing them to zero energy, or by being the first to reach 25 energy. To accomplish this feat, you must draw cards from your deck to boost your stats, or attack an enemy god directly. You can also use your Powers — special abilities that give you an edge over the other players during battle; and Domain Cards —  which give you access to more abilities based on the domains they control.  We really enjoyed the versatility of Rise of the Old Ones and its compatibility with other games in the Kamigami Battles franchise. Picking up some expansion packs will give you more options within the base game itself — and help you take your gameplay to the next level! Heart of Crown: Fairy Garden  Fairy Garden is a standalone expansion for the original Heart of Crown deck-building game. You can play it on its own or combine it with any of your favorite Heart of Crown sets. Like other games in the Heart of Crown franchise, you serve as a powerful figure in a conflict-ridden empire, and must nominate a princess and garner the support of your subjects to claim the throne and reunite the kingdom. To do this, you’ll first need to build your personal deck through strategic card play and collection — earning you Succession Points along the way. These points represent the support of your community and other influential figures in the empire. The first player to obtain 20 Succession Points wins the game! We enjoyed the multiple card combos, exhilarating gameplay, and range of strategies that Fairy Garden has to offer. If you’re looking for a fresh and exciting deck-building game, but still want to enjoy the familiarity of the Heart of Crown base game, then you’ll want to check this one out on our store! Mangaka: The Fast & Furious Game of Drawing Comics  Mangaka: The Fast & Furious Game of Drawing Comics is a creative and fast-paced card game where you play as an aspiring mangaka: a manga artist.  The game begins with 4-8 players pulling Theme Cards, which represent their character’s artistic passions. Over the span of 4 timed rounds, players earn points called ‘Fame’ by drawing comic stories that reflect these themes and trends. The player with the most Fame at the end of round 4 wins the game!  We love this game because it’s fun for all ages — even parents can enjoy playing it with their kids since there are no complicated rules or mechanics involved. We also like how fast-paced it is — there’s never any downtime between turns because everyone has something important they need to do during the next play!  As an added bonus, this game comes with 64 comic pages, and features beautiful anime-style art on each and every card — so it’s a must-have for every home collection! Closing Considerations We hope you had fun exploring our favorite anime board games — and if you want to learn more about any of these titles, be sure to check them out on our website! Our goal is to create an exhaustive guide for fans who want an immersive experience with their favorite series and characters, and we’re always looking for new and exciting games to add to the Japanime selection.   So if there’s a game that you think deserves mentioning, please let us know! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  Japanime Games Brings Japan To You For over a decade Japanime Games has been dedicated to bringing you the finest games from Japan and beyond! The Best Anime Board Games to Play With Friends

The Best Anime Board Games to Play With Friends

It’s no secret that board games are a great way to bring people together. You’ve probably been doing it since you were a kid — you and your friends crowd around a table, pressed shoulder-to-shoulder as you discuss various strategies and laugh over the mistakes you make on the way to victory. But nowadays, there are so many types of board games out there that it can be difficult to know which one to choose… So keep reading to learn about your board gaming options!  Types of Board Games  Tabletop Games Tabletop games are exactly what they sound like: games that you play on a table, usually with a group of people. Most tabletop games include physical components such as a playing board, cards, and dice.  These types of games can be played face-to-face or, and don’t require any electronics or technology, so they’re easy to set up and play pretty much anywhere with a flat surface available.  Additionally, many tabletop games are also available online. This makes them a perfect option for game enthusiasts who want to play with friends and family who may not live close by. Digital Board Games These games are digital equivalents of physical board games.  Unlike regular board games, which are typically played on physical boards with physical components like cards or dice, digital tabletop games are played on computers or tablets.  One of the great things about digital games is that they allow you to play with several people at once, all from remote locations. You can have someone playing from their computer at work (yes, we see you!) and another person playing from their home gaming room across the world — all you need is an internet connection and some free time! Deck Building Games In deck-building games, each player starts with a small deck of starter cards, adding new ones to their hand as they progress through the game. With each turn, players pull cards from a central pool, building their decks around certain characters and themes. The ultimate goal is to create the strongest deck, and to use that deck to gain advantages over other players in the game. These kinds of games usually have multiple players competing against each other, but they’re also great for playing just one-on-one, because they’re fairly easy to learn and fast-paced enough that you don’t have to worry about getting bored as you wait for your turn.  Many deck-building games put you in the role of an adventurer, enabling you to use the power of your creativity to explore vast worlds of magical kingdoms and slay monsters. So if you’re an imaginative thinker who’s looking for something with a bit more depth than traditional tabletop games, deck-building games are a great option for you! Popular Anime Board Games  If you like gaming, you’ll probably enjoy the world of anime board games. Anime is a Japanese animation style, known for its unique character designs, detailed costumes, and action-packed storylines.  With games like Dragon Ball Z, Tokyo Ghoul, and Sailor Moon Crystal featuring characters from popular anime series, anime is a huge part of the gaming industry, to say the least. Now, you can immerse yourself further into the vast world of gaming by playing anime-themed board games.  Anime-themed board games bring the passion of anime directly to you through a fun and unique experience that allows you to delve deep into the worlds that you know and love — or explore brand new ones.  If you’re looking for something that you can play with friends, here are four great anime board games that will get your heart racing as soon as you start playing them! Heart of Crown Heart of Crown is a deck-building game designed for 2-4 players. The premise of the game is simple: you are an influential figure in an empire rife with conflict, and must quickly lay claim to the throne to unify and bring peace to the continent. The task itself, however, is no easy feat. You must nominate a princess for the title, amass support from the community, clash with rival candidates, and rely on your skills to get your princess her rightful place on the throne. Each player begins with the same deck of cards. You strengthen your personal deck by incorporating and playing cards according to your own unique strategy. Throughout the game, players take turns to gain Succession Points. These points represent the support of your subjects and other powerful figures in the empire. The first player to obtain 20 Succession Points wins the game! No table, no problem! Play Heart of Crown on your computer — available for purchase on Steam! Cowboy Bebop: Space Serenade The best anime board games will often give you the opportunity to play as your favorite characters. While you can watch the popular anime series Cowboy Bebop and see Spike Spiegel in his element, it’s a whole other experience to play alongside him as you hunt criminals across the solar system in Cowboy Bebop: Space Serenade. As a player in this deck-building game, you take on the role of a crew member of the infamous spaceship Bebop, travelling from planet to planet as you bring down criminals from all across the galaxy. Each round, players add to their deck by obtaining new abilities and characters. These cards let you fuel your spaceship and travel between planets to capture wanted outlaws and earn rewards. Rewards for these bounties earn you points of Renown, until the final confrontation with your most dangerous foe, Vicious. The player with the most Renown at the end of the game will win and prove to their fellow crew members that they are the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. Tanto Cuore Tanto Cuore is another competitive 2-4 player deck-building game that you’ll want to check out!  As a player, you act as the Lord of a mansion and hire maids to fill your house, trying to become the best Master of the House around.  The goal of the game is to acquire the most Victory Points, by employing a range of maid cards that give you different strategies when you play them together. With every turn, you can hire more unique and skillful maids, and use their powers.  But watch out for your opponents — they can make your maids sick or give them bad habits, which will lower your Victory Points in the long run! Want to play Tanto Cuore with your friends around the world? You can purchase it on Steam! Anime 5E If you’re already a hardcore anime fan, then Anime 5E is the game for you.  This 2-5 person fantasy roleplaying game is set in the vast world of anime and manga. With the endless capabilities of your imagination, you can explore dungeon depths, tame dragons, and discover paths that take you to entirely new realms.  Anime 5E is just the beginning of your journey — and the captivating elements found in anime and manga will bring your biggest fantasy adventures to life.  So hold on tight! Closing Considerations Board games are a fantastic way to spend time with friends, family, and loved ones. There’s something about friendly competition that transcends the barriers between people and brings them closer together, regardless of where they are in the world.  Whether you want to create the magic of your favorite anime, or you just want to find an exciting board game to play with others, look no further than the ones on this list! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  Japanime Games Brings Japan To You For over a decade Japanime Games has been dedicated to bringing you the finest games from Japan and beyond!
